Knoxville Raceway announced Tuesday that the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series would be once again returning to the race track for a pair of race days in June of 2024, but a slight shift in dates has been made to potentially generate some extra attendance.
The track officially released that the tour’s 2024 weekend at Knoxville would happen on June 14-15, which is the same weekend that the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and ARCA Menards Series would be racing at Iowa Speedway less than an hour away in Newton.
Some tracks around the country – like Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s dirt track – have hosted World of Outlaws races on the Thursday prior to a NASCAR weekend, while others – like in this case – opt to host races on nights where the action is wrapped up in the middle of the day at a nearby NASCAR event or otherwise.
The start time for that Friday’s ARCA Menards Series race has not yet been announced, however Saturday’s Xfinity Series event will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT.
These are not the first dates announced for the 2024 World of Outlaws schedule.
The series will open its 2024 slate once again at Volusia Speedway Park for three nights of the DIRTCar Nationals February 8-10.
It will return to Volusia for the newly named ‘Bike Week Jamboree’ Sunday, March 4, 2024 and Monday, March 5.
The series will again be the sanctioning host for the annual Huset’s High Bank Nationals at Huset’s Speedway June 19-22, 2024 and announced during its 2023 weekend at Cedar Lake that it would return to the track in 2024 for its annual Independence Day Spectacular June 28-29, 2024.
Knoxville Raceway will host the 63rd running of the Knoxville Nationals August 7-10, 2024.
