“I’m baaaack.”

That’s the message from 2018 NASCAR Truck Series champion and Grimes, Iowa native Brett Moffitt as he announced his plans for the 2021 racing season on Wednesday night.

Moffitt will be running full-time in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series as well as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with a pair of successful teams.

The veteran will return to Our Motorsports in the Xfinity tour to take the reigns of the No. 02 car while driving for Niece Motorsports in the truck ranks behind the wheel of the No. 45.

“I am so thankful to Al Niece, Cody Efaw and everyone at Niece Motorsports for this opportunity,” Moffitt said in a release.  “To be able to compete full time in both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the XFINITY Series is a challenge I look forward to. Chris Our, Our Motorsports and Chevrolet were a big part of helping this all come together, so a big thank you to them as well.”

The ride with the No. 02 was already known for Moffitt, but the truck ride was a new announcement that broke the air waves tonight.

Moffitt will run for a full points series in the truck.

In his 82 career starts with the truck tour, Moffitt has collected 12 wins and 39 top-five finishes.

“Brett is a proven winner,” Niece Motorsports General Manager Cody Efaw said in the release.  “We are thrilled to have him join Niece Motorsports.  The experience he will bring to our team is invaluable.  We are working hard this offseason – our goal in 2021 is to run up front and contend for wins.  Brett, Carson [Hocevar] and Ryan [Truex] are great talents and we look forward to giving them competitive equipment.”

The trucks will kick off the season in February with the series’ opening race on the 12th at Daytona.
