At the start of NASCAR Truck Series practice, it was looking like an early fast time was going to hold up as the quickest mark of the Thursday section at Knoxville Raceway.
Although, the times started to tick down as drivers got used to the track and the night went on.
Rather than fading away and getting dusty, the track at Knoxville held put and delivered faster speeds later on in the practice session.
Brett Moffitt shot to the top of the board late. Then went Donny Schatz.
Chandler Smith was the last driver to go up, delivering a 22.203 in the waning minutes of the session to earn the quickest time on Thursday night.
The series will set Friday’s heat race lineups by random draw kicking off the night with four heat races to set the lineup for the 150-lap main event. The action can be seen live on Fox Sports 1 starting at 6:00 p.m. CT.
