Knoxville Raceway dropped a news bomb on dirt racing fans Monday when it announced that the 2023 Knoxville Nationals would pay each A-Main starter $15,000 at minimum in this year’s edition of the event.

The race is regarded as one of the premier events in the entire world of motorsports and the purse announcement only further reiterates the status that comes with the marquee event.

The $15,000 figure is more than the Chili Bowl Nationals pay to win, some World of Outlaws events, and is significantly more than any dirt racing event in the country.

Along with the purse updates, positions from P11-to-P24 in the race will each pay either a $250 increase or a $500 increase between themselves.

The 2023 edition of the event will run from August 9-August 12 with the entire Iowa Speedweek beginning with night 1 of the 360 Nationals on Thursday, August 3.
