Landon Cassill is back.

After not finding a ride in 2020 to go full-time racing, Cassill participated in four NASCAR Xfinity Series events with Morgan Sheppard’s team.

In 2021, though, the veteran and Cedar Rapids native will be returning to full-time racing with Team JD Motorsports – a group that he ran full-time with from 2013-2015.

Cassill sported five top 10 finishes during his full-time stint with the team as well as two of the team’s three top 10’s in 2019.

“Johnny and his team in Gaffney mean the world to me, and it is a great honor to be back in the No. 4 Chevy,” Cassill said in a press release. “We’ve done so much together, and look forward to accomplishing more this season. He’s got a great lineup of drivers to work with this season, and I can’t wait to see what we all get done together.”

Cassill and the team drove to a 12th-place finish in the 2014 NASCAR Xfinity Points standings.

If he can find the same chemistry as he did seven years ago, this team will be no slouch.

The team also announced that they will have one more driver announcement before the start of the season as well as sponsorship announcements for Cassill.

Cassill will be kicking off the 2021 season in the No. 4 car at Daytona on Saturday, February 13.
