Due to near-freezing weather conditions, Knoxville Raceway has elected to delay its season opener scheduled for Saturday night to next week.

The track announced Wednesday morning that it would not be opening the year on Saturday.

Next week, Knoxville will host an open practice night – as it traditionally does – ahead of the first night of racing on the track on Saturday, April 23.

The track will host weekly nights of racing that include all three regular classes before its first big event in the Brownells Big Guns Bash with the World of Outlaws goes down on June 10 and 11.

All of the action at Knoxville can be seen live on DirtVision.
