A last minute entry has been added to the 2023 World of Outlaws Late Model Series as the tour announced Wednesday the addition of Bobby Pierce to its full-time roster for this season.
The five-time Hell Tour champion will be racing the national schedule and competing for a points championship against the likes of Brandon Sheppard, Chris Madden and defending title winner Dennis Erb Jr.
Part of the move will include the learning curve working with a Longhorn Chassis after switching to dirt late model racing’s momentous brand.
“I know this year is going to be a learning curve for us since we got new Longhorns,” Pierce said of his chassis deal in a video from the World of Outlaws. “But, so far we’ve started out good at Vado and we’re going to carry momentum into Volusia here.”
Pierce will embark on the full, 50+ race tour that begins Thursday with the Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.
“I know it’s a long year with a lot of traveling, but we do that all the time anyways,” Pierce said. “We’ll just see how it goes. “It’s very exciting to be a part of it. It’s just something that I haven’t really done much in my career. I’ve kinda just bounced around a lot of times, but we’re looking forward to it.
“We’re going to take everything with a grain of salt as the races come and go. Hopefully we can knock off a lot of wins.”
