3/8th's of an inch on 'that' track - Thornton Jr. criticizes late model droop ruling

After being disqualified for failing the droop check following Saturday’s Show Me 100 A-Main, Ricky Thornton Jr. released a statement going after the rule.

The ruling took away what would have been a $50,000 win for Thornton Jr., along with a load of Lucas Dirt season point standings that get reverted back to a last-place.

His sentiments involve both the rule and circumstances of the crown jewel race.

“3/8th of an inch high on droop after the left rear chain broke. A $50,000 win taken away for less than half an inch after a parts failure on THAT track. sickening.” Thornton Jr. posted.

He’s not by any means the first to criticize the droop rule, either. Tim McCreadie touched on it just last week in an interview he did with ARD in Davenport.

Devin Moran was declared the winner of the race.
