On Wednesday, Stewart Haas Racing made its move official.
JR Motorsports’ NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and Hendrick Motorsports fill-in man Josh Berry will pilot the No. 4 SHR car during the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Berry will replace Kevin Harvick in the car, who is retiring at the end of the 2022 season.
Kevin Harvick Inc. has also signed on to represent Berry through the transition.
Berry has filled in for both Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman this season as each driver rehabbed from injury. In eight starts, Berry recorded three top 10’s, including a P2 finish at Richmond.
