Days after a late-race, caution flag cost him his second NASCAR Truck Series championship in three years, Brett Moffitt has announced he’ll be moving up to a new tour permanently in 2021.
Moffitt will be heading to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for a full, 33-race season with Our Motorsports and the No. 02 car.
It’s a familiar spot for Moffitt, though.
The Grimes, Iowa native ran 29 of 33 races for the team during the 2020 season, impressing early on with a P6 finish at Charlotte in his sixth race of the season.
“2020 was a learning year for the entire Our Motorsports operation and the program is now ready to step up to another level,” Moffitt said in a release.
Him and crew chief Joe Williams are expected to partner together once again in 2021 and build on 15 Top-15 finishes that they secured in 2020.
“Our Motorsports has made great strides in 2020 and I’m really excited to carry that momentum into 2021 with Brett Moffitt behind the wheel,” Williams said. “Brett is the kind of driver that makes us better as an organization and I am confident in what we can accomplish together next year.”
The 2021 Xfinity Series schedule will open up at Daytona on Saturday, February 13.
