If you thought Chase Elliott’s championship on Sunday marked the end of racing season for the 2020 calendar year, think again. We’ve got a heap of USAC Midget action coming up and Always Race Day will be here to cover it.

The USAC Midgets will take to Arizona Speedway this weekend for the 53rd annual Western World as a tight points battle comes to fruition in the valley of the sun.

Tyler Courtney enters the weekend with a 15-point lead over Chris Windom in the series standings with three points races remaining in the 2020 season.

Those of course being both Western World events as well as next Tuesday’s points finale at Bakersfield Speedway. The season will then conclude with two show-up points only events at Merced Speedway at the end of next week.

Brady Bacon won the event last season leading every single lap of the midget event.

The points leading pair of Courtney and Windom have combined to win nine features over the course of the 2020 season so far, but neither has visited victory lane in over a month.

With Tanner Thorson 78 points back, his shot to upend either driver for the points title is slimming, but look for these three to try and pick up some extra points in both qualifying and the heats.

Thursday is a practice night for the USAC Midgets while Friday and Saturday will see full racing shows. Both will be available live on FloRacing.
