With Logan Seavey and the Abacus Racing No. 57 team already out to a 48-point lead entering the
Tony Hulman Classic, the longest standing USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car event on the
schedule, they were hungry for even more on Indiana’s only dirt ½ mile.

Seavey charged from sixth and made the race winning pass with two laps to go on Jake
Swanson to secure his fourth USAC National Sprint Car win of the season.

“I waited for the track to come to me, we made some adjustments and kind of knew I would
struggle a little bit early especially when I pushed out and saw the race track,” Seavey said on the FloRacing broadcast. “Jake (Swanson) and Brady (Bacon) were so fast and setting such a good pace. I could get to third and be right on Brady, but he never seemed to get to slide him (Jake Swanson) for the lead.”

Patience was the name of the game for Seavey as he slid Bacon for second with three laps
remaining before setting his sights on race leader Jake Swanson.

“I tried to show a nose to get them racing a little bit harder and a little more aggressive,” Seavey
said on the patience required to make a run at the leaders. “I was finally able to get a run on
Brady and slide him and then that next lap I saw the flagman wave five to go and knew it (the
checkers) was coming quick and had to pull the trigger and I was able to get it done.”

Seavey would quickly close on Jake Swanson, who took the lead early on in the race from pole-
sitter Kevin Thomas JR on lap #7, and pull a daring slider to go on and win his first ever Tony
Hulman Classic at the famed Terre Haute, Indiana facility.

“I was trying to be smart, I was trying to make sure I didn’t squeeze when I didn’t need to and I
saw Brady at one point towards the end and I was like, ‘alright, now I gotta turn up the wick a
little bit and run it harder,’” Swanson said. “I was trying to win the race being smart and at the
end of the day, I don’t know if I could have gotten away any more or maybe it would’ve ended
off a lost worse.”

This is Swanson’s best career Tony Hulman Classic finish and his third top five finish of the
2024 USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship season.

Brady Bacon rounded out the podium with his fourth consecutive podium at the Tony Hulman
Classic.

The USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship returns to action on Wednesday, May
22nd with the first night of the Circle City Salute at the Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis,
Indiana.
