It’s Brad Sweet’s series and everyone else is just racing in it right now.

The two-time and defending World of Outlaws Sprint Car champion has won four-straight races going into the weekend and shows no signs of slowing down.

Not only does he hold a 46-point lead in the standings, but the California native owns nine podium finishes this season, five more than the next best driver.

That includes his active streak of eight podiums in a row.

Now, Sweet doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Him and his Kasey Kahne NAPA Racing team are the best out there right now.

But when looking for someone to stop him, all eyes should be on the NOS Energy Drink cars.

Sheldon Haudenschild is up to third in the points standings, and although its early, its nothing to scoff at.

The No. 17 team is off to a momentous start and has a history of conquering on the bullrings, just like the pair that the series will visit this weekend.

Haudenschild won the only World of Outlaws race at Kokomo Speedway – where the tour races on Friday – in 2020 and enters the weekend on a streak of seven-straight top 5’s.

On the other side of things, with the All Star Circuit of Champions on a bye-week, Tyler Courtney will take his winged No. 7BC over to try and rip it with the Outlaws.

He’ll be up against some stout competition, but if there is anyone that knows the Indiana-based tracks that the USAC tours frequent, Courtney is up there on the list.

We’ll see what the weekend entails, and maybe the successes will keep rolling in for Sweet, but there’s a number of drivers that will be sticking their noses out to try and take a race from the reigning champs.

The Outlaws head to Kokomo on Friday and Tri-State Speedway on Saturday for a pair of races this weekend. All the action as always can be streamed live on DirtVision.
