Devin Moran win a $25,000 payday by stealing a win from Ricky Weiss.
It looked like Weiss’ race to lose on Sunday afternoon. A bobble in lap traffic by Weiss created an opportunity for Moran. Moran made the pass with 10 laps to go. Then battled off a restart to win the Bristol Bash for the World of Outlaws Morton Building Late Model Series.

Early on in the race, Weiss went on a tear. He started on pole but it didn’t come without a scare. Following the Redraw, Weiss found out his team would need to change the rear end in his car. With seconds to meet the call for cars, the team completed the change in time and Weiss led the field to green.
Multiple great battles all over the track, however out front was not one of them. Weiss took the green and cruised out early. Further back it was side by side action including deep in the field. Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Sheppard and Scott Bloomquist all had to come from the Last Chance Showdown.
Those drivers put on a show in the rear of the field but it was Weiss blazing the way up front. A few laps into the 40 lap feature a caution flew and looked to effect Kyle Strickler. He was in the work area as his team looked at some steering issues on his No. 8.
As the field went back to green, Weiss went back to the lead. He gapped the field as a long green flag run set in. Lapped traffic started to become a factor and about that time is when Weiss’ car started to lose its luster. This allowed for second place running Moran to make a move.
Exiting turn 2 a bobble by Weiss led to Moran jumping all over the opportunity and took the lead. When Moran got around Weiss, he was gone. Shortly after a caution, the final one for the event, flew bunching the field back up.
On the restart, Weiss gave it one last charge but it was not enough. Moran led the final six laps without any issues and cruised to the $25,000 payday at the Bristol Bash. Weiss wound up second place after losing what he thought was his race.
