A week after retiring from the race on the first lap of the season opener, Colton Herta is on his way to righting the ship.
The 21-year-old Andretti Autosport driver will start Sunday’s Grand Prix of St. Petersburg from the pole position.
Herta’s best finish at the track is just a P8 run during his rookie year in 2019. He followed it up with a P11 in the 2020 season finale.
Jack Harvey will join him in his Meyer Shank Racing No. 60 car, going for his second career podium in the NTT IndyCar Series.
The pair both upset back-to-back, defending race winner Josef Newgarden who ran third during the fast six session on Saturday afternoon.
Defending champion Scott Dixon starts P8 and season opener winner Alex Palou will launch from 10th.
Seven-time NASCAR Champion Jimmie Johnson will start P23.
Sunday’s race is scheduled to kick off at 12:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. CT and will be televised live on NBC.
