Kyle Larson dominated his way to a Coca Cola 600 win, but Hendrick Motorsports was right along with him.

Each of the four current drivers on the team finished in the top five on their way to another all-around, elite run for the team following their 1-2-3-4 finish at Dover.

Larson just happened to be the top dog this week, leading a race record 327 laps on Sunday at Charlotte.

That’s something he didn’t see coming a year ago.

“When I told Ricky Stenhouse Jr. that I would be headed to the Hendrick cars, he told me I was going to do really, really good in (the car),” Larson said on the FOX broadcast. “But, it’s been better than I could’ve imagined. For us to lead as many laps as we have this year, contend for as many wins as we have, and now to get our second win at a crown jewel… it feels great.”

The difference between Sunday and other races where Larson would dominate was his ability to push back.

In the past, Larson has been out front for a marginal amount of time. He would get passed and not be able to rebound.

At Charlotte, Larson countered drivers like Chase Elliott and others that made moves, got past him, and eventually ended up chasing the No. 5 car again.

The win is Larson’s second of the season as he becomes the third multi-time winner in the series for the year. He joins Martin Truex Jr. and Alex Bowman to be mathematically clinched into the NASCAR Playoffs after the regular season.

The NASCAR Cup Series will be back at it, next Sunday on June 6, taking to California for its first race at Sonoma since 2019. The road course race is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. CT and will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
