Kasey Kahne is going full-time World of Outlaws racing.
For the rest of the 2021 season, the former NASCAR Cup Series driver and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series team owner will be piloting the Roth Motorsports No. 83 car as the year winds down.
Kahne, who filled in for a suspended Aaron Reutzel over the Knoxville Nationals week, recorded a top 10 in an eighth-place finish for the 60th edition of the crown jewel event.
It’s lead to the team giving Kahne the seat for the rest of the year.
“We have always had a great relationship with Kasey Kahne, and we are excited to have him finish out the season for us with the World out Outlaws,” Roth Motorsports owner Dennis Roth said in a press release. “When he was a young man, he did a great job driving for us, and when Kasey Kahne Racing housed a Roth Motorsports car for us in the mid 2000’s they represented us very well. This past week, he is coming off of a really nice job at the Knoxville Nationals in what was a last-minute arrangement for us.”
The team had been home to Reutzel for entirety of the 2021 season, until the former driver was suspended for 30 days for racing with an illegal chassis on tour.
Kahne and the Roth 83’s next race will come on Friday night, when the series continues its season at River Cities Speedway. All of the action, as always, can be followed live on DirtVision.com.
“I am really excited and thankful for the opportunity that Dennis and Teresa Roth are providing me to race with a great team for the last ¼ of the season,” Kahne said. “It’ll be really fun, and challenging, going to some new places as we work hard to run up front every night with the World of Outlaws. We had a great trip to Knoxville, and I am looking forward to getting back to it and really getting started this weekend.”
