Cade Dillard announced on Wednesday afternoon that he would be dropping off of the World of Outlaws Late Model tour for the remainder of the season.

In a Facebook post / statement, Dillard highlighted the reason being for the series not allowing him to miss a race to attend his daughter’s first day of school.

While the points rules mandate that a driver must attend every race, the World of Outlaws have always been consistent on missing WoO races for events in other tours.

However, Dillard was looking to take his daughter to school and be a dad, not race against the series.

Meanwhile, earlier this season in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, James McFadden missed a multitude of races and actually received 75 “Extenuating Circumstances” points for each race that he missed, due to the birth of his daughter and not being able to get out of Australia on time due to quarantine rules.

McFadden currently is running full-time in the tour, competing fully for the points fund, and is the leading candidate for Rookie of the Year at this time.

Dillard’s full statement can be read below.

“This was not an easy decision for me to make. Anyone who knows me knows how seriously I take my job title of “Dad”. Thursday is my daughters very first day of school which is also a WOO race in Pennsylvania. I tried hard to come up with a solution with WOO to be able to miss one race (and to not receive any points) but, if I did miss one by their rules, I wouldn’t receive any point money at the end of the year because my situation to miss doesn’t apply.. There’s moments once you miss them you can’t get them back and being there to bring my daughter to her first day of school happens to be one of those moments I don’t want to look back and regret missing when I could have made a way to be there. With that being said Shane Sprinkle and I have discussed it and decided to drop off of WOO for the year and finish the year racing the big races we want to attend. This weekend that happens to be the Topless 100 in Batesville Arkansas. Thanks to all my great fans who support us every week.”
