The Knoxville Cup Weekly points championship comes down to Saturday night, and three drivers can still find their way to a title.
Davey Heskin enters Saturday night with a 78-point lead over Justin Henderson and an 86-point advantage over defending title winner Brian Brown.
With Knoxville’s point system, anything can happen – especially with how qualifying could go.
If any of the three get a bad draw or have a bad qualifying run, it could cost them 40 points.
The QuickTime winner gains 140 points for the night, second gets 135, decreasing in intervals of five until P9 and below each receive 100 points for making a lap.
With the heat invert and positions being worth just two points (20 points to first and down by two as they go with each position), chances are ground won’t get made up as much here.
The big portion of the night will come with the feature event, where each position gained from 11th-to-1st is worth 10 points.
If either Brown or Henderson win and are still within 10 points of each other going into the race, it would just take Heskin finishing outside of the top 10 for either to steal the points title away.
The full A-Main points are below.

Now the stats coming in heavily favor Brown and Henderson.
The pair have combined for five wins, nine podiums, and 20 top 10’s along with four quick times. For comparison, Heskin has just one quick time, one podium, and no wins. However, he does boast 11 top 10 finishes, the most of a single driver at Knoxville this season.
He’s got that massive cushion for the others to overcome as well, obviously.
He’ll try to overcome the odds and potentially win the series title without a victory this season on Saturday night, the finale night of racing for sprint cars on the half mile.
Knoxville will also crown champions in the 360 class – where Ryan Giles is the favorite over Clint Garner and Jamie Ball in a similar situation – and the pace pro class lead by Tyler Groenendyk.
