We’ve got an interesting wrinkle to the ARCA Menards Series entry list for this week.

Five-time USAC Silver Crown champion Kody Swanson will be piloting the No. 21 GMS Racing Chevrolet during the tour’s trip to Salem Speedway on Saturday (7:00 p.m. CT NBC TrackPass).

For the last decade’s king of one of the most historic racing tours in the country, it’s another opportunity to breakthrough onto the mainstage.

The race, tabbed as the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 presented by Scott County Tourism, will be Swanson’s second start with the series. He made his debut at Iowa Speedway in 2020, where he finished P9 in a Chad Bryant Ford.

Swanson has ran a plethora of other tours including both the inaugural SRX race at Eldora as well as the Freedom 90 (a USF2000 IndyCar minor league) race that he won.

Bryant will actually be on the pit box for Swanson on Saturday night when the race goes green, hoping that the familiar chemistry can come back for an even better result.

Of course, if Swanson looks to win on Saturday, he’ll be tasked with taking down the two front runners in the series.

Ty Gibbs and Corey Heim are separated by just 17 points coming into the race as the pair duels it out for the 2021 ARCA Menards Series title.
