IndyCar’s annual stop in the Music City will look a bit different in the 2024 NTT IndyCar Series schedule, as RACER.com reports the race will serve as the season finale for the series.
The report states that the three-year contract originally signed for the race comes to an end after the conclusion of the August 4-6 event and will move dates in part due to NBC’s coverage of the Olympics.
Officials apart of the Nashville weekend are also exploring new routes for the race to be ran on, one of them at least, pending mayoral approval.
NBC’s coverage of the 2024 games kicks off July 16, 2024, putting the Iowa Speedway doubleheader weekend in the same type of scenario. No date is known at this time for next year’s edition of the race.
Finally, Laguna Seca – the track that will host the 2023 season finale – is slated to move to March to break up the long off-time spent between the season opener and Texas.
