Landon Cassill has always been a driver interested in the latest technology available.

He was one of the first NASCAR drivers on Twitter, and last year he took off doing iRacing events on Twitch during the pandemic break from racing.

So it should come as less of a surprise still that he signed his latest contract to be paid exclusively through cryptocurrency.

The Associated Press reported on Thursday that the Cedar Rapids native inked a 19-race deal with Voyager, a cryptocurrency brokerage platform.

He’ll receive his payment in Litecoin and will be able to trade different types of cryptocurrency based on how the market reacts to things.

Cassill said he would want to pay off some bills, but invest the rest.

Voyager is the latest crypto company to invest in motorsports. This deal comes less than a month after Bitcoin was donned on Rinus VeeKay’s car during the Indy 500.

The 19-race deal starts Saturday at Nashville.
