The No. 48 car is going to have a familiar look at Darlington this season, just not one we’ve ever seen on the same car.

Hendrick Motorsports and Ally Racing announced Wednesday over social media that Jimmie Johnson would be rocking an alternate paint scheme that gives tribute to a pair of legendary NASCAR Cup Series drivers.

The seven-time champion will honor the only two drivers to achieve the same amount of Cup Series titles as he has in his career, during his final season at the helm of the 48.

The car will feature black, Intimidator-style side panels with a red and Petty blue roof thanks to the recently Johnson trademarked Ally sponsorship.

Johnson is currently 25 points out of the final spot in the NASCAR playoffs, although he will head to one of his best tracks in Dover to attempt to qualify his way in with a win.

The Southern 500 at Darlington will be the first race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs and will take place on Sunday, September 6 at 5:00 p.m. CT.

As for the NASCAR Cup Series, they will get back on track this weekend with a doubleheader at Dover.
