It’s time to celebrate.
Justin Grant is finally a USAC Silver Crown champion.
Needing a top 8 to clinch a championship, Grant was slicing and dicing with both Kyle Larson and David Gravel for the win.
He nearly lost control of his No. 91 car late, too, when he went wheel-to-wheel with a lapped car coming around a turn at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
Nonetheless, Grant – who has been so close so many times – captures the 2020 Silver Crown without even winning a race.
Grant started the tour at Selinsgrove with a disappointing 16th-place finish after starting the feature race in second place, but it was a different story after that.
The driver of the Hemelgarn Racing No. 91 captured top 5 finishes at both Lucas Oil Raceway and Salem Speedway before settling for a top 10 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
It all worked out for Grant, though, who saved his best run for championship Sunday, finishing third in the Bettenhausen 100.
