If you’re reading this, Kyle Larson won another NASCAR race.
For the 10th time in 2021, the dirt racing superstar conquered the NASCAR Cup Series field, winning the championship race at Phoenix.
He’s the first driver to win a double digit number of races since Jimmie Johnson did it back in the day.
After winning Stage 2 of the race, Larson would go into the final part of the race against each of the other Championship 4 competitors.
Each of Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin were running in the first four positions for a majority of the latter half.
A caution came out for the No. 38 of Anthony Alfredo just as drivers were starting to cycle through their green flag pit stops. It gave Truex Jr. the lead with 60 laps remaining.
It wasn’t until a yellow with 30 to go gave the No. 5 pit crew the opportunity they needed to get Larson back out front.
He assumed the lead on the restart with 25 laps to go and brings home his first career NASCAR Cup Series championship.
Always Race Day congratulates Kyle Larson on his successful season.
