NASCAR Xfinity Series veteran Joey Gase is being fined $5,000 by NASCAR for throwing the rear bumper of his No. 35 car at Dawson Cram.

Gase, seen in the video below, rips the bumper off of his car before launching it at Cram under caution.

NASCAR states that Gase violated section 8.8.8K of its rule book – “A safety violation may be imposed for any action or omission by a Competitor or vehicle that creates an unsafe environment or poses a threat to the safety of the Competitors, as determined by NASCAR.”

Along with the fine to Gase, NASCAR also knabbed three Xfinity Series teams for lug nut penalties, resulting in each team’s crew chief receiving a $5,000 fine, as well.

Alex Yontz (AJ Allmendinger’s No. 16 car), Seth Chavka (Taylor Gray’s No. 19 car) and Kristoffer Bowen (Corey Heim’s No. 26 car) were the crew chiefs fined.
