Kyle Larson exited pit road in front of the two remaining NASCAR championship contenders. Christopher Bell blew a brake rotor early in Sunday’s title race, leaving the 2021 champion to face his teammate William Byron and Ryan Blaney, who lost four spots on his final pit stop of the race.

Larson held onto the lead, fighting tooth and nail to keep his car in front of Blaney’s as he had multiple times through the race. But again, Blaney got by.

The Team Penske racer drove off, building his lead on Larson tenth by tenth of a second, and ended his day burning down the tires in celebration of winning his first career NASCAR Cup Series championship.

Kyle Larson finished P3, with William Byron earning a P4 result and Christopher Bell officially finishing P36. Ross Chastain won the race.

Blaney propelled himself forward in the playoffs in later races, capturing four top 6’s in the final five races along with a P12 at the Roval and a win last week at Martinsville and another dominant performance Sunday.
