It took Bobby Pierce the first 10 laps of Tuesday’s Castrol FloRacing Night in America A-Main to explore the race track as much as he could.
Once he did, the No. 32 was gone and out into space as the eventual winner of the dirt late model race at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Illinois.
“It was a really fun race there. It wasn’t typical Fairbury with me banging the boards down the whole time, so it was a lot more relaxing of a race.”
Frank Heckenast Jr. had a run on Pierce late, but the driver of the No. 32 switched his lane and went on to capture the victory.
“Once we got rolling we were good. That bottom had more traction tonight then it does more races… I was waiting until the end. I felt like guys were going to wait to show their hand – I felt like a sitting duck.”
Nonetheless, Pierce took the victory and made the trip to victory lane.
The series returns to the track on September 28 when it visits Atomic Speedway for its next event. As always, FloRacing will have the broadcast.
