The final restart of Monday’s Pennsylvania Speedweek race came with nine laps to go as Brent Marks led the field back to the green flag.

Using the inside berm all the way around the race track, Marks outran defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson to take home the win in the annual event.

“We had a really good car there,” Marks said on the FloRacing broadcast. “We tried something a little bit different for the feature, starting so far back there. It rotated the bottom really well. This is great. I was honestly not expecting to be standing up here tonight. Every time we seem to start off the night bad, we can be up here, which is cool.”

Marks first chased down Larson after starting the race P13, slicing and dicing his way through traffic until he ran into the No. 57.

While Larson tried to run the berm in turns 1 and 2 before going to the top of the race track in turns 3 and 4, Marks kept his line consistent – that was all he needed on Monday.

Following the restart, Larson was forced to try something different and move a lane up the race track in the first pair of turns. It wasn’t enough, though.

“Yeah, it was a good finish,” Larson said. “(Marks’) car was strong. I knew from the beginning – I didn’t feel great. I could get through the corners decent, but I couldn’t get down the straightaways. I had my wing all the way back and was just doing all I could. We didn’t win, but another good run for us at Lincoln.

Anthony Macri rounded out the podium for the race while Tanner Thorson may have brought home one of his best finishes of the year in seventh. Fellow NASCAR Cup Series star with Larson in Christopher Bell came home eighth.

Pennsylvania Speedweek continues on Tuesday at the mini-tour heads to Grandview Speedway.
