After a respectful performance that saw him lead laps in the first Ohio Sprint Speedweek event, Buddy Kofoid has made it known that he’s not here just to compete.

The youngster will be winning races.

Kofoid took to the track at Fremont, where the Ollie’s All Stars Circuit of Champions will return to on Sunday night, and came out with a dominating race win.

Racing in the No. 11 car, Kofoid lead all 35 laps of the feature race and held off defending series champion Aaron Reutzel from taking another win this year.

“Yea, shit, I don’t know what to say,” Kofoid said in victory lane. “Last year if the track was like this, we would have been a podium or a top-five car. The guys have really picked it up and we got our car so good on slick tracks like this. Even at Attica last night, we were so good.”

The win secures the Ohio Sprint Speedweek points lead for Kofoid, who has the advantage over Reutzel by six points.

“I can’t thank Ed Neumeister and everyone enough for what they do for me,” Kofoid said. “They let me come out and have some fun. This is only my third sprint car race this year, so to have a first and a second with the All Stars is pretty damn cool.”

The victory was Kofoid’s second ASCoC victory of his career after his first came season ago at Ohio Sprint Speedweek at Wayne County.

He’ll try to do it again on Sunday in the third edition of the mini tour as the series returns to Fremont for the second night in a row. All of the action can be seen on FloRacing and Always Race Day will have updates on social media.
