A majority of the 2020 Eldora Speedway racing season was not able to be run as scheduled due to restrictions branching from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although Eldora was able to run a two-day event dubbed the Governor’s Reign last month, the track’s annual World 100, Kings Royal, and Dirt Late Model Dream were all effectively postponed to 2021.
After an update to a Twitter bio, it appears as though those events may not be lost forever.
The Speedway’s official account bio currently reads, “The World’s Greatest Dirt Track® is home to the 50th & 51st #World100, 37th & 38th #KingsRoyal, 26th & 27th #DLM Dream, 39th #4Crown, & @SRXRacing.”
This seems to point at the track hosting two runnings of each event to make up for the lost races at the track during 2020.
Now, this isn’t anything official, but it certainly hints at the possibility that the track might be running double the big money races.
The bio also eludes to Tony Stewart’s new Superstar Racing Experience making a trip on their planned six-race schedule to Eldora.
Time will tell what 2021 will bring, but this is definitely something fun to look at on a Tuesday afternoon.
