The 15 is back.
10-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz put the rest of the field to sleep on Friday night, winning his third race of the season at I-80 Speedway in Nebraska.
Schatz, who has struggled – to his standards – through the year, earned his second win of the past four races with the series with the victory.
Sheldon Haudenschild and Carson Macedo rounded out the podium for the evening, as the series has one race to go before the Skagit Nationals begin on Friday.
David Gravel was passed by James McFadden late in the race, forcing the No. 2 to the fifth position, rather than fourth or a podium for the night.
It’s a negative for Gravel, who is trying to chase Brad Sweet for the World of Outlaws points championship by the end of the year.
With Sweet finishing P9, Gravel gains eight points on the two-time defending title winner, putting him 124 back going into the next one.
The World of Outlaws will return to the track on Sunday, August 29 as they take to Black Hills Speedway for the Rushmore Outlaw Showdown. As always, all of the action can be seen live on DirtVision.
