High Limit Racing has its second committed driver set to race the series during the 2024 season, and it’s one that some fans didn’t expect.

Shark Racing is splitting its two-car team across the two national tours set to race in the 410 sprint car division next season.

Jacob Allen will race the full High Limit series schedule while teammate Logan Schuchart runs full-time with the World of Outlaws.

Allen has ran the World of Outlaws tour with Schuchart since the start of the 2014 season collecting five wins across his time with the series.

It wasn’t until 2020 that Allen earned his first win, but his 2022 season featured a breakout year that saw four wins in total including a prelim victory at the Knoxville Nationals as well as the Gold Cup Race of Champions, a sprint car major event that moves from World of Outlaws to High Limit sanctioning amidst the schedule shuffling.

In 2023, Allen took some time outside of the car to readjust, and wasn’t in the car from the week after the Knoxville Nationals stretching to the World Finals, where he returned to race.

The High Limit schedule is expected to feature a number of weekend’s off, as opposed to the World of Outlaws slate that typically runs almost every weekend from February to November’s World Finals.

Neither the High Limit nor World of Outlaws schedule has been released in full yet, but those in the industry expect both schedules to be released in the next week, if not at the annual PRI Trade Show in Indianapolis December 7-9.

Allen joins series co-owner Brad Sweet as the first pair of drivers committed to running the tour full-time, beginning with their season opener at East Bay Raceway Park in February.
