Following the results of a USAC tire test performed on racing tires from the series’ opening race weekend in Ocala, Fla. from February, Keith Kunz Motorsports has pulled its non-wing sprint car team from competing.
Kunz stated his withdrawing in a tweet from his personal account on Thursday:
After waiting for a decision on this we at @KKM_67 have decided that we will not compete in the @USACNation sprint car series going forward. https://t.co/R5Ap5EX5vp

Although the team didn’t plan on competing for a full-time season with the series, driver Buddy Kofoid sat third in the point standings ahead of this decision.
Kunz’ team, known for its success in national midget dirt racing, will still be competing in the USAC Midget Series in 2022.
The season continues Saturday at Lawrenceburg Speedway, however if nothing changes a KKM No. 67 car will not be in attendance.
We will update this story if any additional information becomes available.
