Kyle Cummins started on the second row of the Indiana Midget Week main event at Haubstadt on Sunday.

He had seen a plethora of success there in a wingless sprint car, but not any as of yet in a midget.

On Sunday, though, Cummins collected his first ever Indiana Midget Week win at the track he’s so familiar with, cementing himself in the IMW history books.

Cummins took the lead in the opening laps after trading back and forth with Chris Windom, but got out front early on and never looked back.

He ended the night leading 27 of the 30 laps recorded in the feature race.

The win was a welcome sign for Cummins, who had been trying to improve on his midget racing throughout the week, finally coming to fruition with the run on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, without a win so far, Chris Windom took the lead out front of the Indiana Midget Week points.

The defending USAC Midget Series champion has been on it all week and holds a 13-point lead over Buddy Kofoid going into the two-day break.

The USAC Midgets return on Wednesday at Circle City for the first of four more days of action to conclude the mini tour. As always, all of the action can be seen live on FloRacing.
