If we learned anything from the first weekend of Kicker ArenaCross this weekend, we found out that Kyle Peters is still Kyle Peters.
The Phoenix Racing Honda rider again swept the competition in both 250’s and 450’s on Saturday night in Starkville, Mississippi.
His teammate, Cullin Park, earned his best career finish in ArenaCross with a runner-up finish to Peters in the 450 event.
The night was not short of drama, though.
Mike Alessi went to the inside of a corner and made contact with Gared Steinke in the opening 250 heat race.
Alessi waved back to Steinke afterwards, trying to signify he didn’t do it on purpose, but Steinke still had an issue and at one point stopped on the track as a lapped bike to prevent Alessi from getting by smoothly.
Steinke hit a P2 finish in the 250 main event, but surrendered a podium in the 450 race after battling with Kyle Bitterman for the final four laps of the 12-lap race.
The Kicker ArenaCr0ss tour will return to the track next Friday as the series rolls into Lubbock, Texas for rounds 3 and 4 of competition.
