It was over from the holeshot, but that’s usually something Mike Alessi would hear.
Instead, in the first night of the 2021 ArenaCross season, it was defending tour champion Kyle Peters sweeping the action.
Peters proved on Friday, that he hadn’t missed a beat, out-racing Gared Steinke out of the gates in the main event, and holding off Kyle Bitterman afterwards.
ArenaCross counts both the 250 and 450 events in its point standings, but it didn’t make a difference to Peters on Friday.
Peters and Steinke swept the heat races in both divisions for the night – Alessi at least hit a holeshot in his 250 heat race ahead of the main event.
Although, there was simply nothing to stop Peters, who built up his big lead from halfway through the first lap of the main events.
Bitterman managed a runner-up finish in both of the events while Park, Steinke, and Alessi each paired the night with two top fives.
The AMA Kicker ArenaCross Series will return to action on Saturday night as the tour takes to the track once again in Starkville.
