The World of Outlaws Late Model Series has canceled four races set to run in June and July citing fuel prices in the country as well as the shortage of tires plaguing teams and drivers throughout the year.
For Boone Speedway’s second annual Hawkeye 100, the two-day event moves to a one-day race in July. It was previously scheduled for July 8-9 and will now be ran on Monday, July 25.
The new date for Boone comes one day after Iowa Speedway hosts an IndyCar doubleheader at the race track.
The canceled races include the June 4 event at The Dirt Oval at Route 66, June 17-18 at Orange County Fair Speedway and July 12 at Gondik Law Speedway. None of them will be rescheduled in 2022.
Sharon Speedway will host the national touring late model series, with a pair of race days on tap for both Friday and Saturday.
