Carson McCarl is headed to the Chili Bowl.
The 2021 Huset’s Speedway runner-up and Knoxville Raceway regular will head to Tulsa in January for the annual midget race that attracts 300+ drivers in some years.
It comes under unfortunate circumstances – as team owner Cody Ledger is injured and unable to compete in the marquee midget racing event.
He’s tabbed McCarl as the pilot for his No. 35L come January.
Official CLR Statement:
Due to the accident in September, Cody will not be racing the 2022 Chili Bowl. We are excited to announce that @CarsonMcCarl will be piloting the 35L in Tulsa, OK on January 15th-20th. pic.twitter.com/it9tDU8H15

McCarl narrowly missed out on winning the Huset’s Speedway track championship this summer, but put together a solid season nonetheless.
He finished a career-high eighth in Knoxville’s 410 point standings and will look for more come Chili Bowl time.
The 2022 Chili Bowl Nationals can be seen live on FloRacing, starting on January 10, 2022.
