Thursday night marks the opening event for the biggest, annual race in dirt late model racing at Eldora Speedway.
Nearly 100 drivers will take to the track to try and secure heat race positions over the next pair of preliminary nights that give them an optimal chance to start up front in the 52nd running of the World 100.
The field will be chasing a pair of drivers that have dominated the grounds at Eldora Speedway in recent memory in the second Eldora Million winner in Jonathan Davenport and Brandon Overton, who won Wednesday’s makeup date finish to the 28th Dirt Late Model Dream.

Overton’s victory in the race was his third-straight in the event, traditionally held in June, in what has been a career making run for the driver of the No. 76 car.
Davenport comes into the race having won four of the last seven at ‘The Big E.’

Bobby Pierce and Tim McCreadie have obviously captured wins in the event recently as well, along with fan favorite Scott Bloomquist, who is on the grounds at Eldora but did not make it to tech on Wednesday night, therefore not starting the race.
Other contenders like Chris Madden and Mike Marlar are chasing their first career wins in the race and have shown plenty of speed this season, each ranking in the top five in national earnings coming into the weekend.

It all kicks off Thursday night with hot laps scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT. The broadcast for the race can be seen live, all weekend long, on FloRacing.
