David Gravel takes World of Outlaws weekend finale at Knoxville

David Gravel hopped back into his car after a long delay due to an accident involving Carson Macedo in Saturday’s World of Outlaws race at Knoxville. (Updates on Macedo can be found here.)

Gravel restarted in the lead with 12 laps to go and never looked back during the conclusion of the Premier Chevy Dealers of Iowa Clash, earning his sixth World of Outlaws victory of the season.

With his win, Gravel is now just 14 points behind Brad Sweet in the series point standings.

Knoxville regular and defending track champion Brian Brown ended the night in second and Garet Williamson captured his first career podium with the series running in third.

We caught up with Williamson after the race:

The World of Outlaws will return to the track Friday, June 17 for the Jim ‘JB’ Boyd Memorial held annually at Beaver Dam Raceway. All of the series’ action can be seen live on DirtVision.com.
