Martin Truex Jr. may not have came in as one of the blistering favorites for NASCAR’s Cup Series race at Phoenix on Sunday, but he outran the others.
Truex Jr. became the fifth different winner in five races of the 2021 NASCAR season and extends his streak of winning at least one race every season to seven years.
The win of the No. 19 driver was his 28th victory of his career coming over the likes of Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick and others.
High points man Denny Hamlin ran another solid race, finishing third behind Logano and Truex. Defending champion Chase Elliott ran P5.
The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season returns to the track on Sunday, March 21 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
