Carson Macedo won a pair of races at Eldora over the Kings Royal week – he just didn’t win the ones that pay the big bucks.
Although, Macedo took The Knight Before makeup race on Sunday afternoon, hitting the W over Brian Brown for the second time in the past five days.
“I felt really good there. Philip gave me an amazing car. Unfortunately we won the two that didn’t pay $175,000. Still a really consistent week. It’s fun when you’re car is fast like that.”
While the race was moved to Sunday following a day that saw two crown jewel races run within hours of each other to avoid ticket refunds, it still had an impact on the drivers involved.
The event paid out full World of Outlaws points, meaning Macedo gained ground on Brad Sweet for the second straight race.
Macedo is now 114 points out going into Tuesday’s Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup.
Brown is under the guidance of his new crew chief, Danny Lasoski, again bringing home a podium finish to complete a fast week.
He had strong words to say about Macedo and the Jason Johnson Racing 41 team after the race while talking to FloRacing’s Matt Weaver.
Brian Brown is very pleased with this week since making the change to uncle Danny Lasoski as crew chief.
It was just hard today with a day race to validate some directional changes they thought were positive after last night.

“Running second to that 41 sucks, but they’ve been if not the class of the field, the second or third best car everywhere we’ve been,” Brown told Weaver.
Those are big words for a guy in Macedo, who is experiencing his best career season on the World of Outlaws tour this year.
The win becomes Macedo’s seventh on the year, and Brown’s podium matches his best finish with the World of Outlaws in 2021.
“My confidence is high,” Brown said. “This just kind of shows you where we’re at as a team now. We’re not gonna let one bad night spoil a whole week. This daytime show is probably the dumbest thing a car owner could do, but we have to learn – especially with getting new people acclimated. We hit on something yesterday and wanted to see if it was just luck.”
Spencer Bayston closes the week out with another strong run in the Sam McGhee 11 car and Lachlan McHugh impressed by capturing the hard charger award en route to a top 10.
The series will be back on Tuesday, this week, for the annual Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway.
