It might have taken a pair of cars wrecking in front of him midway through the feature, but Justin Henderson is staying hot.
The driver of the No. 7 is taking home his second weekly show win in as many nights, earning his fourth victory of the season at Huset’s Speedway on Sunday.
With the Knoxville Nationals right around the corner, Henderson is getting consistent at the right time.
“I think we’re just living in the moment, trying to relish every moment,” Henderson said. “Lady Luck has been a good friend and she’s been super, super kind. I am very happy and very, very grateful.”
Henderson’s win is his fourth of the season at Huset’s. Pairing that with wins at Knoxville on Saturday July 17, and another at Huset’s last week and it hasn’t been too bad of a time to be in the No. 7 car.
After Mark Dobmeier and Lynton Jeffrey wrecked in the first two spots, Henderson took the lead in the race.
“Tonight I tried something different,” Henderson said. “I used my head quite a bit to realize I didn’t need to charge it so hard. I think really that’s what won us the race. It was technical, but really a brawnsy type of race as well. You gotta go hard. Be a He-Man when you can.”
Brooke Tatnell and Tyler Drueke rounded out the podium.
Carson McCarl picked up a P8 finish after crashing in his heat race and putting the car back together in time for the feature. He was the hard charger for the race.
The series returns at Huset’s next Sunday, July 25 and as always can be seen live on DirtVision.com.
