He got another.
Kyle Larson picked up his second All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek win in the past three days, taking another top spot on Wednesday night at Waynesfield.
After he started on the front row, it was never really in doubt, but Rico Abreu made him work for it.
“It’s really cool to get another win,” Larson said on the FloRacing broadcast. “Rico made me earn that one through traffic. I got a little sloppy through my lanes, I didn’t really know where to run, and he got by me there.”
Abreu got by Larson on the bottom, but after Larson adjusted a bit, he got back by the No. 24 car and rounded out the win.
Larson plans on running part of the upcoming Pennsylvania Speedweek, but will be done for the week in Ohio, he confirmed over the broadcast.
“It’s an awesome race track,” Larson said. “I love Waynesfield. It’s definitely my favorite Ohio track. I wish we could have ran for more, but we’re going to head to Tennessee and get ready for Nashville.”
Abreu finished in the runner-up spot ahead of ASCoC points leader Tyler Courtney.
Courtney, however, climbed to a 212-point lead in the standings, following the departure of Ian Madsen from Sam McGhee Motorsports.
Madsen didn’t compete in the race, and Cory Eliason moved up to second.
The series will be back for the sixth night of Ohio Speedweek on Thursday at Muskingum, as it works toward the Saturday night finale.
