For the second night in a row, it was Sheldon Haudenschild’s race to lose, but on Saturday night, it was Aaron Reutzel taking the checkered flag.

After Haudenschild spun out with nine laps remaining in the feature, Reutzel inherited the lead and never looked back.

He beat out Kyle Reinhardt and defending ASCS champion Sam Hafertepe Jr. to take the win in the tour’s second night out.

Donny Schatz was prepped to be a contender and have a shot to go back-to-back to open the touring season, however, the series ruled that he missed the random scale check after his heat race.

The move brought criticism by a lump sum of racing fans, including a racer himself in Dominic Scelzi.

Schatz came from the B-Main and made his way through the field, but ultimately he didn’t have enough time to challenge for the lead.

A bit further down the field, Gio Scelzi took P6 in his second night with his Toyota Racing Development engine.

The series returns to the track on Monday night as it heads to East Bay Raceway Park. All of the action can be seen live on FloRacing.
