For the fourth time this season, the AMA SX series has seen a unique winner.

Ken Roczen was able to hold off Eli Tomac after missing a turn with just two minutes remaining in the race.

The changeup in winners was to be expected this season, with all of the big names and storylines that have taken shape ahead of the meat of the schedule.

Tomac, Roczen, and Adam Cianciarulo were competing for the top three positions all night, but mistakes kept the Monster Energy riders from taking the checkered flag.

The win keeps Roczen out in front in the 450 SX standings, six points in front of Cooper Webb and another nine points over the defending champion in Tomac.

This all goes without mentioning that Marvin Musquin looked great in his heat race, but was taken down in the first turn after a multitude of riders took some nose dives.

The AMA SX series will be back for the second round at Indianapolis on Tuesday, with a delayed broadcast beginning on NBCSN at 10:00 p.m. CT.

In the 250’s Colt Nichols took a holeshot straight through to the win ahead of fellow Yamaha rider Christian Craig.

On the final lap of the race, Craig got into Jett Lawrence – who had overcame a poor start and raced through the field.

The collision cost both riders a podium finish and helped Nichols gain some ground on Craig in the points standings.
