Through the first half of Saturday night’s USAC Midget Feature race, Logan Seavey was the only driver with a reasonable shot of coming out with the victory.
After he pulled out of the opening night of the T-Town Showdown at Port City, it was anyone’s race to win.
Buddy Kofoid stepped up to the plate.
The young gun took down the RMS Racing duo of Justin Grant and Thomas Meseraull, utilizing the bottom and rolling away from the two.
Brian Carber made a bid to try and challenge for the lead late but had to settle for a second-place run.
The win is Kofoid’s second USAC Midget Feature victory of the season and will help Kofoid extend his points lead over defending champion Chris Windom.
Windom was gunning for the victory early on in the night, but clipped an infield tire forcing him to the back of the field, along with Kevin Thomas Jr. after the No. 5 ran into Windom.
Thomas Jr. was able to round out the top 10, passing Windom on his way there.
The finale night of the T-Town Showdown will take place on Sunday, on what has turned into a packed day of racing action. All of the USAC Midget show and happenings in between will be seen live, as always, on FloRacing.
