Always Race Day is stepping into the world of rankings. Connor Ferguson and Damon Helgevold voted the best 25 Sprint Car drivers heading into the week of August 2nd.
The list will contain drivers from the World of Outlaws, All Star Circuit of Champions, High Limit Series, Knoxville Raceway, PA Posse and other Sprint Car series across the country.
David Gravel tops the first ever ARD Sprint Car Rankings. The World of Outlaw points leader has amassed 10 wins to go along with 33 top-fives and 39 top tens. Since Knoxville in mid-June, Gravel hasn’t finished worst than 11th and has only been outside the top-5 twice in that span.
Coming in second is Kyle Larson. While Larson doesn’t run his Silva No. 57 very often, he does deliver once behind the wheel. In seven Outlaw starts he’s won two of them and has finished outside the top-ten once. He has won both of his All-Star starts this year and has dominated the High Limit Series winning three times in six races.
Gravel leads Brad Sweet by eight points in the World of Outlaw standings. Sweet comes in third in the first rankings. Six wins, 25 top-fives and 38 top-tens, Sweet has been Mr. Consistency for the last two seasons. He isn’t winning near the amount he did in 2021 but he’s always up front and more importantly finishing races.
Carson Macedo finds himself fourth in the opening rankings. Macedo has one less race win than Sweet but 28 top-fives and 39 top-tens and has been a threat each time out. Since his accident at Knoxville, Macedo has finished outside the top-ten twice but has also won twice in the span. He’s also placed top-five in 10 of the last 16 races.
Rounding out the top-five is probably the hottest Sprint Car driver on the planet right now, Rico Abreu. The momentum train is real with the California wheelman. Abreu has won in every series he’s participated this year winning four Outlaw shows, two All-Star events and stole the High Limit win away from Larson last week. As the Knoxville Nationals near, Rico is putting himself in prime position for a big week.
