Sunday afternoon marked the finish of one of the most unique 24-hour races at Daytona in the history of sports car racing. Ending at 12:40 p.m. CT, the event combined frigid temperatures with a massive, 61-car field in the final year of the current era of IMSA racing.
Next season will bring a new rules package and things alike, but on Sunday and throughout the season the Meyer Shank Racing squad will be celebrating their overall event win of the 60th annual Rolex 24.
Anchored by reigning Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves, the No. 60 team knocked off the defending champion Wayne Taylor Racing No. 10 car, bringing home the biggest IMSA trophy of the season.
